First sock of 2006

I am so excited to have finished my first Trekking XXL 101, that I could not wait till tomorrow to post!! it feels so soft and tingly...
It is so great to knit with this yarn and Addi circs.
Here is why it is fun to knit socks-
Portability, GREAT sock yarn around these days, they are fun to wear once you made them, and make great personal gifts. Also, besides the heel and toe parts, it is as mindless as you can get, especially if you do it on 2 circs. Just what you need at times!!
Did I mention the cool sock yarn??? Oh, I did...
And I just ordered some Sundara Yarn Can't wait to get it. I read so many blogs drooling over this yarn...............
It also helped that I was in a car for almost 8 hours, coming back from Niagara Falls today. But more about that soon.
Here is my sock:
I used just a simple basic sock pattern, since the yarn does all the work. It is so much fun to knit, you keep wanting to see what colors will appear next.

Thanks for dropping by my blog and for your comments. I love the sock yarn you choose for your first socks of 2006, the colours are great. I knit my first pair of socks ever for the Knitting Olympics this year and I have just recently purchased some more sock yarn so I guess I have been biten by the bug.

the socks are great, and it's nice to hear your comments about knitting them for the first time. I haven't knit socks yet and am only half interested in doing so. I like the portabiliy, the pretty designs, and the beautiful beautiful yarn, but they seem almost impractical.

So here's a question that might sound silly but that's sincere: do you wear your socks with shoes, or do you wear them around the house? I'd worry that shoes would be hard on them and all my detailed work would get messed up.

The Sundara yarn is such a treat, for now I don't even want to use mine, it's so pretty in the skein.

Those look nice and comfy, and just my colors. Now I just recently purchased an addi size 1, are you telling me I need 2 of them? I want to try the magic loop method, I think! My lys has Trekking in some funky colors, maybe I'll purchase a skein anyway.
