Freeform tea cozy

My Freeform tea cozy is coming along. side one is all finished, and I am almost done with side 2. I have modeled it on a tea cozy I have, (11"x13") that fits my large tea pot. I want to make a lining for it. I wonder if I should just use the template as the lining, or use some fleece fabric I have.

A fashion forward tea cozy! What an inspiration! As for its interstices, I'd go with the quilted template cozy, on the grounds that it has 3 layers of insulation while fleece is but one. (Fleece keeps people warm but may not do the same for a teapot.)You will, of course, have to have faith that the cozy's very jazzy knitted exterior and more staid floral interior can be truly happy together. Can't wait to see the FO. The first cup to come out from underneath will certainly be delicious.

Amazing teacozy! I really love it's artistic feel. Makes you wonder, what kind of tea is brewing underneath? Lovely!

Wow! that is the coolest piece of knitting I have seen in a while. It looks like lots of fun to knit. I see no reason why a fleece liner wouldn't work.

Totally wild! If that doesn't keep your tea toasty, nothing will.

That's quite the funky tea cozy - but it would make me happy to see!

I've always associated the word "free form" with crochet. It's really fun to see you make your freeform cosy by knitting it. It certainly becomes equally wonderful crazy as if it had been crocheted :-)

Dang, you've been busy. I love all the Kaffe Fassett FOs. That is the first piece of freeform crochet that makes practical sense to me. Is seems like it would be so heavy, but for a tea cozy--perfect!

That has raised the cosy to an art form! Fab!

I'd definitely make a special fleece lining for it -- because, well, the template doesn't live up to the cosy -- and that cosy needs to be finished with the same style it was knitted.

That tea cozy is blowing my mind. Your teapot is going to be the best dressed teapot in all the land.
