Lace away

Pomatomus are done! Knit in Mama Blue Knitting Goods Merino Semi-Solid Sock Yarn in the color Anvil. I don't like lace on my foot, in the shoe, so it gave me an opportunity to see how the yarn knits up with no stitch pattern. I like it! I love the way the yarn sparkles. They are a little too big, but only a little. I knit 10 pairs of socks this year, so far. 2 for my son, 2 for swaps and 6 for me. Wow.
Pomatomussocks so far- 2007
As soon as I finished the Poms, I swatched for the SotS. I even beaded! My LYS had a size 14 crochet hook (its tiny!) but it may be a bit too small. I ordered a size 13, which is recommended for the size 8 beads I have. I hope the size 13 will be a it easier to bead with.
I made 2 swatches.
left: alpaca cloud, knit picks with addi lace us4
right: Fa Re Baruffa Cashwool Decatito, merino, addi lace us6.

Getting ready for Rhinebeck!! Hope you are coming! Please stop and say hello if you see me! I am not sure what I'll wear yet, but it will probably be one of these sweaters.
The sweater I started hoping to finish for Rhinebeck this year, will probably be done for next year. (well, yes...) I am participating in the Rhinebeck Bingo, and I am a square! Very very excited about it, and Its going to be a fab fiber festival!

Your Poms look absolutely wonderful. I have some of that yarn in the same colour, and I'm glad to see it knits very nicely just plain as well. Good job!

Oh I luv the way your Pomietoes came out. I want to play blogger bingo this year so hopefully you'll be one of my squares.

Your Pomatomous look so pretty. The semi-solid yarns seem to work the best with the pattern and the colour you've chosen is so lovely and delicate.

Man, I feel bad about knitting the pattern onto the feet of your socks for the exchange...I KNEW you didn't usually continue the pattern but I did what I wanted anyway. Hahaha.

And thanks ALOT. I just signed up to be a square. :-)

I really like your "no stitch pattern on the foot" version - the colours of the yarn are more than beautiful enough I think :-)

Ditto on the no stitch pattern/foot. And that includes seams. ;)

Oh yes, those socks are gorgeous, you are right about the sparkle, they are sort of frosted, very pretty.

Thank you for your lovely comment on my finished Hourglass, it was so liberating to knit something in the round, definitely an experience to be repeated.

What a smashing collection of socks you've made. I have to say that your Pommies in that yarn are stunning.

the socks are great: nice yarn and very sophisticated in grey!

Ooh, those are some of the nicest Pomatomouses I've seen -- and that's saying something, given how many of them are out there.

I'm jealous of everyone going to Rhinebeck! Maybe one of these years...

Very nice socks. Good, cool colour.
And I want to go to Rhinebeck, too!

Those Pomatomus are beautiful. I found mine came out a little large too; I'll do them with a finer fingering and a slightly smaller gauge next time, I think.

Wish I could be at Rhinebeck! Will have to make do with Knit & Stitch at Alexandra Palace in London. And even that's a plane journey away.

Fantastic Socks- wow, you must wear skirts so they show! But bingo? I must be slow, I just do not get how it works. Take care my friend. I cheer you on!

Love the Potomatus - great colour and nice to see a no lace variation on the foot. Still not had time to even swatch for SotS so will be way behind now - I look forward to see how yours progresses!

The pattern looks lovely in that yarn, and the plain foot turned out just as nice. Congrats on all the socks you've knit so far this year. Hope you have a great time at Rhinebeck!
