Birds Nest Scarf

Birds Nest Shawl (in scarf form) from Folk Shawls by Cheryl Oberle, in Artful Yarn's Virtue. Its 100% cashmere. Oh so lush and soft. Its for my pal at the ISE4. After blocking it is even softer and clocked in at 75"x 9.5". I used 6 skeins of the blue and 2 of the purple. Addi circ US4 for the purple border and Addi lace US 6 47" long for lace part. (LOVE it) with the lace needles it just flew. Next will come the gloves.
I had two days of no knitting. I did a lot of blog hopping and flicker surfing (practically addicted to flicker). So much so that I feel a little overwhelmed. There is SO MUCH creativity out there, it got me. At times it is inspiring, at times, paralyzing.

I've been looking forward to seeing it blocked out so I could get a good look at the lace pattern, and the wait was well worth it! It's gorgeous, and I'm sure your exchange partner, whoever they might be, is going to absolutely love it!

You did a lovely, lovely job on the birds nest shawl. I made one several years ago for my daughter, at her request in black laceweight mohair~!! I don't recommend it.....Yours is much nicer.

I like the fact that the lacy bit is surrounded by such a robust edging, and the colours really compliment each other. Gorgeous.

(Re: FlickR etc)I get more paralysed than inspired, I'm afraid, and start feeling too overwhelmed to remember what humble things I'm trying to finish. Not a healthy attitude, I know!

You haircut looks very nice - I was straining at the screen until I remembered to click on the photo and saw someone else had notiece the cut as well! Lovely FO's and new yarns at the mo - that little handspun skein is so cute and looks adorable, glad you seem to be enjoying it! My you've done a lot of FO's ths year so far - I think my list would look pathetic in comparison! Love the scarf - what's the book like - any good? Sorry for the essay in place of a comment!

I've never knit with pure cashmere so I can only imagine the softness - what a beautiful lace scarf!!

What a lovely, luxurious scarf! The contrasting edging gives it some nice substance that is often absent from lace scarves, without detracting from the lace pattern. Your exchange partner is exceedingly lucky. :)
