FO Saturday

I should be doing paperwork! But, here I am in blogland. So much to catch up, to read, to bookmark, to download patterns, to buy some new yarn. Ahhhhhhh, big sigh. Why am I buying yarn? Well, See, I visited sockpron, and she now makes these stitch markers (gorgeous!) and I lost the one I got in London, so I need a new set, so I got them, and so I just happened to key in Etsy "handspun alpaca", and I just happen to find some lovely lovely "handspun alpaca" in natural (undyed ) colors, and they just happen to end up in my shopping cart. So what was I to do? I did not want to be rude, so I purchased them...
But- I have been knitting. And from stash!
Finished (the zipper) the ribbed cardi from chic knits in the incredibly inexpensive but great yarn from knit-picks. Despite some wonderful zipper tutorials I opted to have it done by a seamstress at the cleaners. I just was not ready... It was great to knit, and awesome to wear! The rib thing makes it warmer!
I am really into the neck-warmer thingy. Knit with alpaca from the stash (alpaca yarn I bought in London. Artesano alpaca- Inca cloud, color#53 knit in the round with size 6US,) in a cable stitch I wanted to try. You make the cable over 10 stitches, and alternate where you start. It was fun to make, but I will not make a sweater from it.
Also finished my Gentleman’s Fancy socks (Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush) in Trekking Pro Natura Bamboo socks (color 1603). What a great fiber to knit with! Wool and bamboo. These are great fitting socks. I modified with a shorter leg portion, so no tapering, and I made an eye of the partridge heel flap and sq heel. They feel and fit so well. I highly recommend this yarn. And for those looking to knit for guys who do no like too colorful socks (...) these are very toned down colors, yet never boring! (hello, its Trekking!)
OTN now is another pair of socks Oak Ribbed socks, (Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush) but I made the rib K3, P1,K1,P1. Its a combination I wrote down on a scrap paper a few months ago (don’t know what inspired it) and have wanted to try it. The yarn is sKNITches’ Bebop Sock yarn (100% Superwash merino) in color Zombie. Lush and lovely yarn!!! For some reason I was in a rush to de- skein this and wound it into one ball, so I could not do my usual of knitting from two ends together, and now I am worried I will run out of yarn, so I started the second sock. I sure hope it lasts, although I am already prepared to knit the toes in black. Does a rib take more yarn? Maybe I’ll do the foot part in stockinet.. This is a pleasure to knit with.
My next socks will be toe up. You read it here first...
I also joined Project Spectrum 2.0! I am super excited but also a bit nervous, since I chose for the first section ( February / March Blue, White, Gray) to have another go at my VK lace shawl.

Wow, you've been busy! Wonderful collection of FOs, but I particularly like the socks. I love that pattern in those subtle colours!

(I'd probably have done the same thing with the zipper!)

That's a lot of great FOs! You've been busy! I've joined project spectrum too, but have no idea what to do with first three colours. Photos I guess!

WOW - that is a lot of finished objects! The Ribby Cardi is gorgeous in red...I bought and printed that pattern off when she 1st designed it and I have never made one....I need to.
I also love your Trekking "Gentleman's Fancy" and plan to make those when I'm done with the current Vintage socks I've got going.

Some great FO's there! I like how the Zombie colorway is knitting up as I've got the same! Hoping you have enough yarn to finish! :)

What a busy woman you've been. I love your cardi! And your socks. Your neckwarmer is also great and I wish I could wear one of those myself. But unfortunately I hate things stuck to my throat...

The neck warmer looks great, and so does the cardi!
I'll count the stitches on the KSH neck warmer and update the posting. (I knew I should have done it, but I was too lazy at the moment of posting)

Looks yummy, now when the cold set in (both there and here). And socks too, wow, you have been busy. I love the footprints below ... And scarf plans lets project together! Take care! No paperwork on weekends! Just blog and knit!

Great job on all your knitted items! I couldn't wear a neck warmer...I can't wear anything up around my neck - makes me feel like I'm choking or something, and I'm always pulling at the collar if it's up too close. Your's looks great though.

The ribbed cardi looks great. What fun that you can wear all those FOs at once!

How on earth do you get so much knitted and looking fantastic? That cardi looks so professional. Just a bonus that it's so warm, too! You know I like the neckwarmers - that one is a great colour.

I'm still trying to figure out how you knit so fast.....

The ribbed cardi looks great on you. What a great idea to get a pro to sew in the zip.

I really like your neckwarmer, it looks really cosy and warm.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment on my finished Salina.

I really like your ribbed cardigan, I too would be nervous about applying the zipper, after all that work. The colour is fantastic, really vibrant, perfect for providing some cheer on cold days.

The cardigan looks so cozy, that one is on my one day list. And your socks and neck warmer look lovely, you are one busy knitter.

The color of your cardi is perfect-beautiful knitting. I'm thinking about knitting a pair of Nancy Bush socks soon-loved reading about your socks here.

What a great collection of finished objects you have! I love the ribbed cardigan and think your solution of having a seamtress "install" your zipper an excellent one.

Found your blog while web-surfing!

What is that fabulous mitred square pillow/afghan that the brown socks are resting on? Love the design!!! Are the squares random colors or did you plan it?

I finally checked the neck warmer data. It's 100 stitches in the round on a 7mm needle. I just knit until I had used appr. one skein of Kidsilk Haze, and then cast off.
