The Tale of the Snowflakes

Once upon a time there was winter, and in the winter of the North East it used to snow. This winter there was but one little dusting in NYC. Some people blame global warming. I love snow in the country-side, its so pretty and majestic, but in an urban setting- only on the weekend, or holidays. Otherwise it turns to slush/dirt/messy city. Don't get me wrong, it can be pretty in the city as well, but- only for a minute . So for the lack of snow here this year, I thought out some flakes. I loved the snow flake sweater in IK Holiday Gifts, (that issue had some fab deigns, don't you think? Think Koolhaas) and when I saw the chart was 18 stitches across- my mind thought18x2=36 half of 72, great sock numbers! I loved the colors and that was it! Koigu Addi us1- 2 on 2.

Gorgeous socks, and I *love* that only one has the red stripe on the foot!

So is that to enable you to know which sock is your left foot sock?
(I adore the snowflakes - what a smart thing to do! And yes, IK Holiday is a wealth of patterns for a long time to come!\

Great socks!! Wonderful idea to get some "flakes" in your life. Here in Wisconsin we've finally had a "normal" winter with lots of snow and cold weather. None of this global warming stuff! I love the snow, the ice and the cold. Bring it on, Mother nature. We are tough!--and wearing hand made socks helps.

I love your sense of taste. The colours are just right anyway, then that extra red stripe adds character. Just Perfect!
